I have brought the limitation to the Wind Load Auto Generation tool in the past, but this is becoming more important and an issue now, since I’ve been getting many comments from our clients and my coworkers on this.

Currently, the wind load auto generation tool takes tributary lengths to generate wind on superstructure (WS). However, this is not the case at fixed piers, which could potentially take all the wind load.

Therefore, we are kindly requesting that an input similar to the “Length of LL” (in attached image), be added for calculating (1) the transverse wind load on structure and (2) the longitudinal wind load on structure.

Basically, there will be three length inputs: “Length of LL;”, “Length of WS Trans” and “Length of WS Long”. Please let me know when this can be incorporated in LEAP since it will save us a lot of time when checking and generating wind loads.
