I process survey data for the Maine Department of Transportation. We have been transitioning from InRoads to OpenRoads for about a year now and are currently using OpenRoads Designer 2023. Myself and others in the Department are seeing frequent corruptions with .dgn files. With this frequent corruption happening, we really need a way to export the edited data WITH observations so as not to lose the hours spent editing the data in the Field Book. Observations are needed to be able to discover incorrect staff heights or adjust a horizontal angle of a backsight. Horizontal editing is usually the most time consuming of all edits, and incorrect staff heights usually aren't discovered until after horizontal edits are done and a terrain is created so that triangles can be viewed. When a .dgn becomes corrupted and a new one needs to be created, the only way to bring the edited data into the new .dgn is to export it as an .sqlite file. When importing that .sqlite file into a new .dgn, however, the observations are not included. Fixing a bad rod height is not possible. Please find a way to include observation data when exporting a Field Book.

Thanks for the suggestion! We always recommend sending any crashing or corruption issues to our support team through our website.
Every time ORD crashes and the window pops up asking to report the issue, I explain what tool I was using and what I was doing. There is never any response though.
