I process survey data for the Maine Department of Transportation. We have been transitioning from InRoads to OpenRoads for about a year now and are currently testing OpenRoads Designer 2023. We really need a way to export edited Field Book data with BOTH observations AND attributes, so as not to lose hours of edits when a new DGN needs to be created. The reason for needing a new DGN is that we're seeing frequent corruption with DGNs. Observations are needed to be able to discover incorrect staff heights or adjust a horizontal angle of a backsight. Horizontal editing is usually the most time consuming of all edits, and incorrect staff heights usually aren't discovered until after horizontal edits are done and a terrain is created so that triangles can be viewed. When the Field Book is exported as an XML file, the observation data is included, but attributes are not. On the other hand, if a Field Book is exported as an SQLITE file, the attributes are included, but the observational data is not. If observations are not included, changing a bad rod height is not possible. InRoads field book files could be saved as an .fwd and opened in a new DGN with all observations AND attributes.
