When setting up terrain filters, there is a substantial amount of effort required in multiple dialog boxes. I had created a report for InRoads that created the XML codes needed for its Terrain Import tool's preferences using an XIN file as its source. This effort took far less time than it would have to manually define the filter.
I believe this would still be true for Open Roads, if the definition of the terrain filters could be imported or exported via XML. It might even be possible to use the Migration tools to generate the initial source data for this process.
We often have to combine survey data with photogrammetry and while we have a uniform CAD Standards for the graphics, only Survey builds a terrain from survey.
This would also be useful for design surfaces and other situations.
