Who would like to have more capable Civil Reports?
Currently, OpenRoads Designer relies on the XSLT 1.0 Transformation Language for generating Civil Reports. This language was published in 1999, now 24 years ago. In 2009, a much more full-featured version of XSL, XSLT 2.0 was released. However, Bentley has not incorporated this into the Connect Platform, despite its availability prior to the initial launch of Connect.
What do we gain? Lots of new functions, query options, and other useful bits that will help use master the data output of our OpenRoads Models.
Bentley, please make this transition and give us documentation on supercharged Civil Reports. We need more than ever this ability as the world moves into Digital Delivery, and reports become a critical documentation tool for models.
Could we do better? How about Javascript based Civil Reports, delivered through the authoring tool? That would be a dream come true. It is true that Javascript Civil Reports are rolling out on Infrastructure Cloud.
