I was trying out the OpenPlant software and it really is an amazing tool for piping and HVAC modeling.
It has some really good functions and workflows for equipements and pipes.
The thing that really impressed me is how easy is to place a equipment like a tank and edit its dimensions on the go. Using the same template, create many different objects varying some dimensions.
In OpenRoads/Site, if we need a little bit larger manhole or a bigger cover or grate, we have to to go through editing so many top/bottom cells in a separete dgnlib, then creating custom templates/symbology/features to finally placing that one special node.
On a side note: the integration with stroms is amazing. Running the whole network with different scenarias and all. It's really something.
But sometimes we just want to create a quick network without all the hidraulics and complex properties/databases. Just model and send to client or others for a concept / clash run.
Maybe we could have some easy tools like in OpenPlant.
