Long alignments can oftentimes consist of multiple profiles that control along various segments of the alignment. Currently, only one "Active" profile can be assigned to an alignment. When creating multiple bridges along the same alignment, users have to create copies of alignment files and change the active profile to the one that controls at the location of a particular bridge. This creates unnecessary duplication of alignment data that can be difficult to manage as updates are made. In OpenBridge Modeler, being able to select the profile from the alignment, whether it was Active or not, would eliminate the need to duplicate alignment files and reduce the risk of errors as alignment files are updated.

This makes a lot of sense. Being able to select the profile the OBM model attaches too follows the same workflow that is used in ORD with corridors. Being dependent on the active profile causes lots of issues as any changes to the active profile cause OBM issues.
