In reading other comments, it appears that issues being faced is important for consideration.
Currently, we are not using "Turnouts" within OpenRail. This is because the interface for turnouts in regards to US Rail is not great. Many railroads have modifications to standard AREMA turnouts. Just getting the information to attempt and recreate the turnouts within OpenRail is a nightmare.
As such, most designers have utilized Event Points to specify the location and other various elements of a turnout. Events are often also used for items like Grade Crossing edges, etc.
When Annotating an Event Point, the ability to have an individualized name for the Event Point does not exist. Currently Event Points are named "Event Point" in the Annotation Settings I have set up. When the Annotation occurs, every single Event Point is labeled as "Event Point". This is then manually changed by double clicking the text and changing the text from "Event Point" to the information that should be displayed. An example would be "PS RH #10" or similar.
Event Points have the cabability to have a "Description". However, this field cannot be used as a Text Favorite. The description for an Event Point could be "PS RH #10". If the Descrition Field of an Event Point was made to be a Text Favorite, then the Annotation for the Event Point could be changed to whatever was in the Description Field for the Event Point instead of Dumb Text that is manually changed.
EVERYTIME ANYTHING HAPPENS TO AN ALIGNMENT, the Event Point Manually Edited text gets wiped out and reverted back to the basic text of "Event Point". The user then has to MANUALLY change all the Event Points back to the appropriate label.
THIS CAPABILITY IS DESPERATELY NEEDED TO REDUCE THE MANUAL WORK ASSOCIATED WITH FIXING ANNOTATION.
If Pen/Pencil was brought back, this would not be an issue, but this is a HUGE ISSUE for workflow.

Just ran into the need to do this on an active project! I second the need for this functionality. Handy for vertical alignment design purposes
