As part of our push into digital delivery, one thing we've run into is that if we are placing lines, points, drainage features, etc. in one file, and then need those same features in a different file for another purpose, the feature names that come in by default starts over in the new file, resulting in multiple elements with the same feature name. This is problematic in the downstream processes where both files are brought into a common data environment. I think a potential solution would be to have feature names act differently when there is a file referenced in that has the same features. The file could find the feature names of the elements in the reference and then name the new elements such that they don't overlap.
